Achieveland Poker Tournament
Location: Lexington Village, Cleveland, Ohio
Date: Sunday, January 27, 2008
The Achieveland Poker tournament was the biggest fundraiser to date for the Achieveland scholarship fund. Michael “Dukes” Atkins was the Project Manager of this event that had over 60 participants from all over Ohio. The tournament was a single day tournament playing under the “Texas Hold Em” style of play. The gentleman who won the tournament asked to remain anonymous.
The men of Six Duece Enterprises worked very hard on this project as Dukes began preparation months in advance. Each member of SDE had to learn how to be a proficient dealer and fully understand the rules of the game. Many practice games and scenarios were meticulously gone over in preparation. The budget of this project was the largest to date; both in terms of time and resources. Special thanks goes to the mother of Dukes, Ms. Lillian Atkins for running the kitchen, finding the security and helping find us the venue for the event.
To keep the integrity of our tournament up to the SDE standards, we did not take any pictures while the participants were playing. We can only share with you all the pictures we took while preparing for our big event. You will have to be at the next one to see all the action!
